CHASING NATURE

Artists

An Exhibit by 14 Sculptors Inc.

Chasing Nature - May 2021 to June 2023 is the title of an outdoor exhibition in which 8 sculptors from 14 Sculptors Inc. have created works which express their individual experiences of nature. These outdoor installations echo our connection with natural form and the natural world.

Inspired by the allure of flowers Allan Cyprys’ vision is The Tall Flower; Chuck von Schmidt created a mammoth Hibiscus. Siena Gillann Porta's Like a Flash of Lightning in a Summer Cloud, with laser-cut flower shapes can be seen as solid form. Herb Rosenberg's Fading Flower observes the flower at the end of its life cycle. Niki Ketchman's, Inside Out and Dan Bergman's, City Tree, present diametrical interpretations of a tree. If you live in the city, suburb or country, your vision is influenced by that very fact. Reclamation, as an idea and in practice, motivated the creation of Esther A. Grillo’s Rock Relics and Carl Rattner's Portal; both address environmental impact issues.

Each of the sculptures presented were created by using a wide range of media to express the artist’s vision.  The exhibition is located in Leonia NJ, at Fort Lee Road and Station Parkway across from Overpeck County Park.

14 Sculptors Inc. is a sponsored organization of NYFA (New York Foundation for the Arts) - www.sculptureforleonia.org.
